"Religion - Staat - Gesellschaft": New Journal on Beliefs and Worldviews Published in Germany - Premiere Issue Includes Articles on Religious Liberty in Europe, Israel, Falun Gong, Jehovah's Witnesses

A new academic journal of religion is being published in Germany. "Religion - Staat - Gesellschaft: Journal for the Study of Beliefs and Worldviews" is edited by Gerhard Besier (University of Heidelberg) and Hubert Seiwert (University of Leipzig) in co-operation with James Beckford, Massimo Introvigne, James T. Richardson, Richard Singelenberg, Bassam Tibi and Hermann Weber. The premiere issue opens with an article by Massimo Introvigne on "Freedom of Religion in Europe and the Question of New Religious Movements", followed by Jamers Richardson's paper on religious freedom in Israel. Important articles, of interest for scholars of new religious movements, are signed inter alia by Hubert Seiwert on Falun Gong and Richard Singelenberg on "Stigmas and Stereotypes: Child Custody Decisions and Jehovah's Witnesses' Parenthood".
